Great Etsy Finds for your Home : Vol 1

I became obsessed with Etsy about 10 years ago when I discovered what an amazing online market place it is for wonderfully unique items from makers both locally and all around the world.

At the time I would work on creating interior selections for builder display homes.

Working with a style or theme for the interiors I would source furniture,  cushions, linen, art and accessories. Every little detail would be considered.

Endeavouring to create interiors which still had elements of personality in their layers and that would not result in a ‘cookie cutter’ look ! This would always be the challenge when sometimes it felt limiting to source from only a certain range of suppliers over and over again. I would strive to reach beyond this and discover more. Besides, there is always more fun to be had when you go on a treasure hunt !

This is when I discovered that sourcing from the wonderful treasure-trove that is Etsy opened up so many possibilities for finding those one off pieces. Elements to add interesting layers of personality and style to a the interiors and overall elevating the experience for anyone going through the homes.

There are so many different styles of interior elements you can find on Etsy from cultural and traditional pieces to contemporary styles, vintage and one of kind handcrafted pieces.

There are great furniture and homewares to be discovered by individual makers and it is a great way to support the small businesses.

Below I have listed some of my favourites. Collectable vintage ceramics from Italy or Denmark, Hmong cushions from Thailand, blankets from Morocco, or floor rugs from Turkey.

So enjoy the Etsy goodness - I will list more in future posts - there are so many to discover !
